On the occasion of the 40th Yello anniversary this year, highly sought after classics will be re-released on vinyl on July 9th, including the cult albums „Baby“, „Zebra“, „Pocket Universe“, „Motion Picture“ and „The Eye“.
Not just interesting for collectors, though, but also for all Yello fans who would like to own the rare albums „Baby“ (1LP), „Zebra“ (1LP) and „Pocket Universe“ (2LP) on vinyl.
A special surprise: the two albums „Motion Picture“ (2LP) and „The Eye“ (2LP) appear on vinyl for the first time. All of course as 180g vinyl in original artwork and limited to a one-time reissue edition.
"Baby", the seventh YELLO album, released in 1991, contains the classics "Rubberbandman" and "Jungle Bill" as well as the fan favorites "Capri Calling" and "Drive / Driven" and marks the musical bridge between the 80s and 90s for the dynamic duo Blank / Meier.
“Zebra”, the eighth YELLO album, released in 1994, contains the classic “Do It” as well as the fan favorites “How How” and “Tremendous Pain
“Pocket Universe”, the ninth YELLO album, released in 1997, is certainly one of the most controversially discussed outputs of the Swiss electronic legend, as the overall sound here was very progressive for the time. From Techno via Trance to Ambient, a multifaceted palette of all possible electronic music varieties is covered.
"Motion Picture", the tenth YELLO album, released in 1999, contains fan favorites such as "Liquid Lies", "Squeeze Please" and "Croissant Bleu". In 2021 the album will now finally be released on vinyl for the very first time, as a 180g double LP in the original artwork and limited to a one-time reissue edition.
"The Eye", the eleventh YELLO album, released in 2003, contains fan favorites such as "Planet Dada", "Tiger Dust" and "Indigo Bay". In 2021 the album will now finally be released on vinyl for the very first time, as a 180g double LP in the original artwork and limited to a one-time reissue edition.
The YELL4O YEARS retrospective is released as a limited and numbered 4CD earbook. The 60-page, lavishly and lovingly designed book contains exclusive and brand-new liner notes for every YELLO album released, including numerous rare and in some cases never-before-seen photos and visual insights into the illustrious career of the Swiss electronic pioneers.
The first two CDs form a classic Best Of with 41 songs, which of course includes hits and evergreens like "Oh Yeah", "Bostich", "The Race (live)" and "Vicious Games" as well as eternal fan favorites à la "I Love You", "Goldrush" or "Rubberbandman". On CD 3, the more melodic, more cinematic side of YELLO is reviewed - MELLO YELLO, so to speak. "The Rhythm Divine (feat. Shirley Bassey)" and "Desire" are included side by side with more unknown gems ("Solar Driftwood", "Capri Calling" or "Otto di Catania"). For the fourth CD, YELLO's favourite remixes from 40 years of the band's history have been compiled and accompanied by previously unreleased remixes, such as Mark Reeder's (Factory Records) "Wet & Hard Mix" of "Vicious Games".
The strictly limited 180g black YELL4O YEARS double vinyl contains 21 tracks and of course quite a few classics and hits like "Oh Yeah", "Desire", "I Love You", "The Rhythm Divine (feat. Shirley Bassey)", "Vicious Games", but also new fan favorites like "Waba Duba", "Spinning My Mind" or "Way Down".
The YELL4O YEARS 2CD Best Of contains 41 tracks and all the classics, hits and evergreens from the Zurich sound lab: "Oh Yeah", "The Race", "I Love You", "Bostich", "Vicious Games", but also new fan favourites like "Waba Duba", "Limbo" or "Spinning My Mind".
